The Future is Now

It is often said that young people are our most precious resource; they are the leaders and influencers of tomorrow – they are the future. We believe this statement to be true, and it is our desire to empower the young people in this community to achieve their goals and ambitions, and fulfil their potential. In order for this to happen, we recognise the need to invest in our young people – our future – today.

As an organisation, we seek opportunities to become further involved in activities that benefit the youth community of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. Recently, the QLD government launched National Youth Week; a celebration of young people, and an opportunity for young people across the nation to celebrate their contribution to their community, share ideas, and participate in events and activities hosted by their local council.

Between the 5th and the 11th of April, our team had the opportunity to work alongside Toowoomba City Council’s Youth Connect program, to organise events and activities with the purpose of engaging the youth community of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

Over these few days, our key staff and some of our amazing volunteer team were able to engage and connect with young people. We attended a number of events hosted by TRC Youth Connect in local communities (and surrounding areas) such as Oakey, Millmerran, Clifton, Highfields and Westbrook.

We have been overwhelmed by the quality and potential of all the young people we have met, and firmly believe that our future will be in good hands.
