Putting for a Purpose

A whole week of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the Toowoomba members of the Master Plumber’s Association, who came together for their annual charity golf day at the Toowoomba City Golf Club.

Participants arrived for breakfast and got started early in a shroud of Toowoomba fog. Players not only played the full course, but also had fun in a marshmallow putting competition and other activities. This year’s event was the biggest yet, with more than 100 players signed up for the 18-hole, four-ball Ambrose game.

All players were encouraged to give towards supporting a local charity during the day. We are pleased to announce that together there was more than $1,000 raised to support the work of our Street Crews, in assisting young people through difficult times and providing just-in-time support.

We are extremely thankful for all the people that played a part in making this a great day, and for all those that gave generously to support the work of our organisation. Sometimes, change doesn’t happen through grand gestures of generosity and kindness, sometimes change happens one putt at a time.
