Liquorice Allsorts

One of my favourite sweet treats when I was growing up was Liquorice Allsorts. I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t get enough of them. It might seem funny to you, but when I think about all of the people it takes to make our services and programs possible, that’s what I think of…

Just like a bag of Liquorice Allsorts, it takes all sorts of people, from all walks of life to make our services and programs a reality. In the last financial year, we had more than 60 volunteers to see our activities go from good ideas to a practical reality. Those volunteers willingly put in thousands of hours and all of their heart to bring these services to life.

In addition, there were dozens of sponsoring businesses and community groups that supported the delivery of those services. Without the generosity of Framed Espresso, Heritage Bank, Harvey Norman Toowoomba, Grand Central Shopping Centre and many more, our teams wouldn’t be able to do what they do.

Community transformation and societal change doesn’t happen in a vacuum, it happens when the whole community pulls together and collaboratively works for a better tomorrow. This takes more than digging deep into our pockets, it requires much more than that… change happens when we believe in the cause enough to ‘get involved’.

I have always been blown away by how those companies that support us do this. A great example (among so many others) is how, for the last three years, Classic Recruitment and HR have not only been sponsors of the Loads of Love Appeal, but they have also donated the time and effort of their staff to providing practical support to the appeal as well.

There is not enough space here to tell you about all of the amazing contributions that help our team kick some amazing goals, but I want to take a moment to thank everyone (you know who you are) for playing their part, no matter how big. We are what we are because of YOU.

We are better together.
